“How odd I can have all this inside me and to you it’s just words.”
David Foster Wallace, The Pale King

That's honestly how I feel sometimes when I go to write a blog post from my heart, that feels honest and true, while reflecting on what I felt when a family lets me into their lives to document them.  I LOVE people.  I LOVE the way they love each other and how they choose to show that love, and it's weird and beautiful that they can share it so openly with me.  I share that love with them while I work, and they mirror it back to me, and it's a formula as simple as that.  Just love.

But, I guess it's not only words that I have to share, I have the images of that connection and interaction, too.  I try to put so much of that love I feel, and that they feel, that bounces all around the walls into every single photograph I make.  I hope that's what people see and feel when they see my pictures.  More importantly, I hope it's what these families remember when they hold these photographs long after their babies are grown and they are grey.

This lifestyle maternity session in Melbourne was a joy.
