In case you didn't already know, I am a total Podcast nerd.  I can't remember the last time I listened to the radio, as I always have about 10 podcasts lined up and ready to go for my car trips.  Having recently also purchased a new car, there has been ample car travel time (aka podcast listening time) as I enjoy the luxury of heated seats.

On the way to this incredible lifestyle maternity session with Amber-lea, Dion and young Torren, I was listening to a TED Radio Hour Podcast titled "What is Beauty" talking about the reasons why humans are hardwired to crave and respond to beauty.  I often think about this as a creative who's job it is to seek out and photograph beauty everywhere I go.

The podcast suggests that we need beauty to survive, just like we need oxygen and water.  As an artist who has chosen to make a career out of capturing beauty, this concept is so deeply engrained in me.  To dig too far into the why, and to dissect the how, wouldn't even come close to describing what it is to do what I do, and how it makes me feel.  This beauty is what exists at my core.

Someone once reflected on what I do, and how my work translates to them.  She said, "you just LOVE people, Amy.  And you shine that love all around them when you work, and they can't help but reflect it back to you."

The love people show me is the beauty I seek out in everything I create.

This family is beautiful.
